Think of Me

The Horsebridge Arts Centre

Gallery 1 & 2

3 - 18 November

To mark the Centenary of WW1, ‘Think of Me’ is the culmination of a community
project led by the Horsebridge, to uncover and retell the personal heritage of
soldiers from Whitstable who lost their lives in the First World War. Hand sewn
by participants of the project, individual sweetheart cushions representing each
of the soldiers will hang in a silent remembrance, finally uniting the servicemen
together in one place. An accompanying exhibition in Gallery 2 will display the
biographies of the soldiers, with artefacts, memories, stories and findings
uncovered during the research stages of this project.

Think of me was made possible thanks to funding awarded through the Heritage
Lottery Fund’s First World War 1: then and now programme.
