Information

A Lite Talks Course with Frank Foley

10 week course from 21st April.

Short‐story writer Frank Foley is back with another literature course that will look closely at some thrilling titles:

'Do Not Say We Have Nothing' by the Canadian writer Madeleine Thien was shortlisted for The Man Booker Prize 2016 and is a moving story of the musicians who suffered during and after the Cultural Revolution in China.

Arundhati Roy's 'The God of Small Things' took the reading world by storm when it won the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 1997. This semi‐autobiographical novel is set against the backdrop of social discrimination, communism and the caste system and will most likely blow you away.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a Nigerian author, a recipient of a MacArthur Genius Grant and TED speaker. She 'brings a lucid intelligence and compassion to the painful history of Biafra in Half of a Yellow Sun.'
